Kill the SC Income Tax! - Show Me The Money Episode 7

South Carolina’s main account went from taking in $7 billion a year to $14 billion in ten years. The entire income tax brings in about $6 billion. Where did the growth go?

In this episode of Show Me the Money, Mike Burkhold explains his proposed road to ending the state income tax without raising another tax: hold spending growth to population and inflation, about 4% a year, and use revenue growth above that to reduce the income tax over time.

The legislature holds the line on spending.

The Comptroller General counts the money and makes the numbers clear.
